A Refreshing Take on an Educational Website

NCACTE is a non-profit organization that unites teacher educators, staff, and faculty across various higher learning institutions in North Carolina, focusing on policy issues and advocacy for current and future educators.

When NCACTE approached Vaulted for a website redesign, they sought a design that would reflect their growth as an organization and provide a platform that would allow them to easily maintain their website pages for new opportunities for members.

Revitalizing the Brand Identity

During our discussions, we identified a unique opportunity to slightly refresh the NCACTE branding and color scheme. Our goal was to give the organization a sleek, collegiate appeal while still remaining fresh and engaging for college faculty and students. 

We approached the website rebrand and redesign project with a focus on maintaining the existing brand's look and feel while simplifying the overall design. We saw an opportunity to expand the color palette to be collegiate yet engaging and fun, incorporating accents of geometric shapes and strategic use of color to create an appealing visual effect. This approach directed the eye to important copy and links, while emphasizing call-to-actions through high contrast and accessibility throughout the site.

Crafting an Engaging Digital Experience

We reorganized the website's sitemap and page structure to prioritize the most important information for the organization’s core users. To enhance the community-centered design, we showcased photography from events, special interest groups, and organization leaders. We customized a Squarespace website to align with the brand, providing the client with an easy-to-use platform for site updates and maintenance. 

Squarespace also enabled features such as event signups, annual forum ticket sales, and member dues payment, all integrated into one cohesive space. This comprehensive solution not only improved the aesthetic appeal but also enhanced the website's functionality and user experience.
