A Clear, Engaging Digital Presence for North Carolina’s Education Leaders

About the Project

The North Carolina Association of Colleges and Teachers of Education (NCACTE), a nonprofit organization,  unites teachers, educators, staff, and faculty across higher learning institutions throughout the state. With a focus on advocacy and policy issues, NCACTE provides a vital platform for current and future educators.

When the organization approached us for a website redesign, their goal was to create a refreshed digital presence that reflected their growth and made it easier for them to share opportunities with their members.

The Challenge

NCACTE needed to:

• Refresh its branding with a more collegiate yet engaging look
• Redesign its website to be more accessible and easier to maintain
• Organize content in a way that prioritizes the information for members
• Integrate functionality for events, payments, and member engagement

The Idea

We took a brand-first approach, refreshing NCACTE’s identity and expanding the color palette to feel both collegiate and engaging. Geometric accents and strategic use of contrast were added to guide the eye and highlight calls-to-action while maintaining accessibility.

On the website side, we reorganized the sitemap and page structure to prioritize member needs. Event photography and community imagery helped bring a sense of connection to the digital experience. Using Squarespace provided the team with the flexibility to easily manage updates and content.

The Work

• Brand Refresh: expanded color palette, subtle identity update, modern collegiate styling

• Website Design: simplified layouts with geometric accents and high-contrast calls-to-action

• Content Organization: restructured sitemap to surface the most important information

• Squarespace Development: a customized build with event signups, annual forum ticketing, and member dues payment capabilities

The Impact

The redesigned brand and website gave NCACTE a modern, professional platform that balances advocacy, community, and accessibility. The organization can now manage its content with ease, showcase its events, and provide members with a clear, engaging digital experience.
