Bittersweet A delicious, timeless brand

Bittersweet, located in downtown Raleigh, NC, is a long-standing cocktail and dessert bar. We established its brand identity more than a decade ago, aiming for a design that's a mix of playful and sophisticated. The brand carries an eclectic sense of humor, featuring witty sayings that add charm.

To capture Bittersweet's essence, we focused on a dessert-themed color palette. It included rich chocolates, mint green, and vibrant colors to complement mid-century-inspired hand-drawn illustrations. This versatile palette extended across various applications, from coasters and merchandise to signage and the website.

Our work for Bittersweet encompassed a wide range of design tasks, including branding, website design and development, illustration, and menu design. One notable highlight was the menu redesign, which transformed it into a storybook-style menu. We recently refreshed the website using Squarespace to ensure a modern, mobile-friendly experience. This project reflects the enduring impact of design and importance of branding in a beloved local establishment.
